Perry: I will be the override gold medalist

NC Senator Jim Perry posted the following on his Facebook page:

We have overridden Governor Cooper's veto stamp on four bills. Two of the bills are mine! Senate bill 229 and 331 are updates to our state finance laws which have not been touched in about 40 years.

No business is immune to the impact of inflation. Costs have gone up for everyone and that includes the costs of capital, salaries and general operations. If a lender can't make money loaning money into a particular space, or loaning down to a lower credit score, they will NOT LOAN MONEY into the space. Wealthy people with good credit can always get loans...the law of supply and demand tells us his actions hurt everyone else.

Senate Bill 299 required local governments to "do what they are supposed to do" with regards to financial audits. We have seen too many bad situations that harm taxpayers.

Senate Bill 364 prevented any state employee from having to swear fealty to any governor's ideology by preventing compelled speech on a subject.

The governor has vetoed 3 of my bills this year. I guess I will be the override gold medalist after today.
