Congresswoman Ross Statement on Roy Cooper
Raleigh, N.C. — Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross released the following statement on Governor Roy Cooper running for U.S. Senate in North Carolina:
“I have known Roy Cooper for more than three decades. He is a leader of uncommon integrity who has dedicated his life to fighting for the people of North Carolina. I proudly endorse him for U.S. Senate.
“Roy was our state’s outstanding governor during difficult times, and he is absolutely the right person to serve as our next senator. He successfully expanded Medicaid after more than a decade of political gridlock – putting life-saving healthcare within reach for 600,000 people. He also oversaw a rapidly growing economy and coordinated an effective response to Hurricane Helene, which enabled our state to serve our people no matter their zip code.
“Roy will hold Donald Trump and his Republican allies accountable for their attacks on our state and its people. He will fight hard every day for more opportunity, better health care, and a brighter future for every North Carolinian.
“I look forward to doing everything I can to help elect Roy Cooper in November.”
