State Board of Elections to meet July 16
The North Carolina State Board of Elections will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at its offices in Raleigh.
The meeting comes as the board continues work on election administration and proposed rules ahead of the 2026 general election.

Public hearing scheduled on proposed absentee-voting rules
The State Board of Elections has also scheduled a public hearing for July 16 on proposed rules involving absentee voting.
The hearing is part of the state’s administrative rulemaking process and follows previously announced opportunities for public comment on election rules.

General Assembly chambers scheduled to return July 27
The North Carolina House and Senate are not scheduled to hold regular floor sessions Wednesday.
The legislative calendar lists the next House and Senate sessions for noon Monday, July 27.
A Governmental Operations Subcommittee on Prisons meeting that had been scheduled for July 16 is listed as canceled.
