OVERRIDE TIME: Senate Plans to Return to Override Gov. Stein's Vetoes on July 29

Raleigh, N.C. – The North Carolina Senate will reconvene on Tuesday, July 29, to take up all seven of the vetoes Gov. Josh Stein has returned to the Senate, as well as any successful overrides from the House.

"By vetoing these commonsense bills, Gov. Stein confirms that he is out of touch with the people of North Carolina," Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) said. "He tolerates criminal illegal aliens roaming our streets, divisive 'DEI' concepts in our schools, and government infringement on our Second Amendment rights. I look forward to leading Senate Republicans in overriding these harmful vetoes and putting North Carolina families first."

Beyond veto overrides, the Senate is expected to consider a bill to implement President Trump's school choice tax credit program.

The Senate is expected to hold a voting session in the morning on July 29.
