Resurfacing projects awarded for Franklin, Granville and Wake Counties

RALEIGH – Thanks to three new contracts awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation, totaling nearly $11 million, about 70 miles of area roadway will be resurfaced.

  • Under a $4.11 million contract, Carolina Sunrock of Raleigh will mill and resurface pavement and improve shoulders along 19.1 miles of state-maintained roads throughout Granville County.

  • Under a $3.44 million contract, ST Wooten Corporation of Wilson will mill and resurface pavement and improve shoulders along 27.4 miles of state-maintained roads throughout Franklin County, and about 300 feet of a road that crosses into Granville County and a quarter mile of one in Warren County.

  • Under a $3.27 million contract, ST Wooten Corporation of Wilson will mill and resurface pavement and improve shoulders along 23.3 miles of state-maintained roads throughout eastern Wake County.

This work can start this summer and must be complete by Nov. 30, 2022.
