Ross Files for Reelection to Fourth Term in NC’s 2nd Congressional District
Raleigh, N.C. — Congresswoman Deborah Ross filed for reelection to represent North Carolina’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is running for her fourth term representing this seat, which includes most of Wake County. Prior to serving in this position, she represented Wake County for more than a decade in the General Assembly.
“Representing the people of Wake County in Congress is the greatest honor of my life,” said Congresswoman Ross. “I am humbly seeking another term so that I can continue working hard to make daily life more affordable — and the American Dream more accessible — to people in North Carolina and throughout the country. I am also committed to using my position in Congress to do everything I can to protect our people and our community from the Trump administration’s relentless attacks on our basic rights.
“North Carolinians deserve a government that delivers results, a Congress that gets things done, and an Administration that operates with transparency and integrity. Yet since January, the people of our state have seen nothing but chaos in Congress, corruption in the White House, and cruel cuts to their health care and other needs. That’s unacceptable. Our state and our nation deserve better.
“I will continue to use every tool at my disposal to hold Donald Trump and his cronies accountable. I won't stop fighting to protect our rights and our democracy. I won't stop working to build a better and brighter future for all our people.”
Since being sworn-in, Congresswoman Ross has passed 14 bills into law and returned more than 22 million in federal dollars to her constituents in Wake County. She currently serves in the House Democratic Leadership as a Chief Deputy Whip and sits on the House Judiciary, Science, and Ethics Committees.
