Raleigh, N.C. – North Carolina returned to the No. 1 spot in CNBC's "Top States for Business" rankings this year. Since 2019, North Carolina has ranked in the top three states for business and was previously the top state in 2022 and 2023.
CNBC named North Carolina as second best state to do business and in the top three for the fifth year in a row thanks to our well-trained and diverse workforce, booming economy, and strong business environment. In 2019, North Carolina ranked third; in 2021, the state ranked second; and in both 2022 and 2023 North Carolina ranked first.
RALEIGH: CNBC has named North Carolina as America’s Top State for Business in 2023 for the second year in a row. This morning, Governor Roy Cooper joined CNBC’s Scott Cohn at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville for a live broadcast where the winner was revealed.
