HALIFAX, N.C. — America’s first formal call for independence, a document known as the Halifax Resolves, is coming home to North Carolina for a short time as part of the state’s commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary, Governor Josh Stein announced today. The document will be exhibited in the new visitor center at Halifax State Historic Site from April 10 through Oct. 6.
