RALEIGH — North Carolina agencies reported several government items this week that may be useful to statewide political and policy readers.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services held a July 21 media availability on cyclosporiasis after reporting 561 cases in North Carolina as of July 20. The department said it continues to work with local, state and federal partners to identify potential sources and encouraged residents and restaurants to follow food-safety precautions. The North Carolina Health Care Affordability Commission held its first meeting July 21. NCDHHS said the commission is intended to develop recommendations to address rising health care costs.
