North Carolina lawmakers and state agencies have several statewide government updates moving into next week, including legislative sessions, a House Finance agenda and the closing date for electric grid resilience applications.

House and Senate scheduled to return Monday
The North Carolina House and Senate are scheduled to convene Monday, June 29. The House is scheduled to convene at 10:30 a.m., and the Senate is scheduled to convene at 3 p.m., according to the North Carolina General Assembly legislative calendar.

House Finance agenda includes tax, workforce and consumer bills
The House Finance Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday, June 30, at 9 a.m. in Room 643 of the Legislative Office Building. The agenda includes House Bill 199, Nonconsensual Booting and Towing Reform; House Bill 1083, Voluntary Portable Benefits Plan Act; House Bill 1200, Tax-Free Family Essentials Act; House Bill 1213, Protect Taxpayers and Consumers; Senate Bill 1041, Public Workforce Modernization Act; and Senate Bill 992, Truth in Taxation.

DEQ electric grid resilience applications close Friday
The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s State Energy Office is accepting applications statewide until Friday, June 26, for projects that modernize and upgrade the electric grid. The agency said the program is aimed at grid resilience projects.
