Tillis, Colleagues Urge CFPB to Halt Unfair Small Business Data Collection Rule

 Senator Thom Tillis recently joined six Senate Banking Committee Republicans in urging the Biden Administration’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to halt the effective date of the Dodd-Frank Section 1071 small business data collection rule for all banks. The rule would require banks to collect sensitive personal data on small business owners when they seek a loan. 

Tillis, Brown Introduce Law Enforcement De-escalation Training Bill

Senators Thom Tillis and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) recently introduced the bipartisan Law Enforcement Scenario-Based Training for Safety and De-Escalation Act of 2023. The legislation would require the U.S. Department of Justice, through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), to create immersive, real-life, scenario-based training curriculum to address key issues raised by law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.
