BREAKING: NC General Assembly to Draw Additional Republican Congressional Seat

Raleigh, N.C. - General Assembly Heeds President Trump's Call to Thwart Blue State Attempts to Take Congress. Today, legislative leaders agreed to hold votes during the previously scheduled October legislative session to block the efforts of blue state Democrats to take control of Congress from Republicans. The General Assembly anticipates returning to Raleigh next week to consider a new Congressional map. 

Governor Stein Calls for Comprehensive Mental Health Investments to Promote Public Safety

(RALEIGH) Recent events across North Carolina have been tragic reminders of the need to meaningfully invest in mental health resources, and Governor Josh Stein today called for comprehensive resources to keep people safe and healthy. Governor Stein also toured Integrated Family Services in Greenville, which will be opening a new Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) later this month. 

CATS Special Report Reveals Armed Security Decreased 40%, “Inclusion” Requirement for Security Contracts

RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) has released a Preliminary Special Report on the security contracts for the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS). The report, conducted in response to the murder of Iryna Zarutska on one of the CATS’s train cars, examined the security contract history of the CATS, the fluctuations in security personnel for the CATS, and how solicitation for security contracts was guided by a “Charlotte Business Inclusion” requirement.
