State Auditor Boliek Statement on Veto Override of House Bill 549

RALEIGH, N.C. — State Auditor Dave Boliek released the following statement on the North Carolina General Assembly overriding the veto of House Bill 549, "Clarify Powers of State Auditor":

"The State Auditor’s Office is North Carolina’s watchdog agency. The independent nature of this office is key to ensuring transparency and accountability in all levels of government. House Bill 549 protects the independence of the State Auditor’s Office and enhances our ability to create a more effective, efficient, and accountable government. The governor’s misguided veto of our agency bill was an unnecessary delay. I want to thank the legislature for standing up for government efficiency and taking swift action to enact this bill into law."
